The 2024 Kia EV9 is An All-Electric Pioneer in the SUV Segment

The 2024 Kia EV9 is An All-Electric Pioneer in the SUV Segment

With the upcoming launch of the all-new Kia EV9, the South Korean automaker is set to redefine the future of sustainable mobility. As Kia's maiden three-row EV SUV, this innovative vehicle will stand out in its segment with luxurious appointments to rival the industry's premium SUVs.

Based on the all-electric, flat floor architecture of the Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), the EV9 is set to revolutionize interior comfort and spaciousness. With three rows of seating and the versatility to cater to the most adventurous of drivers, the EV9 is projected to deliver up to 480 kilometres of all-electric range.

In line with Kia's 'Opposites United' design philosophy, the EV9's aesthetics reflect a fusion of nature and modernity, culminating in an extraordinary vehicle. The signature 'Digital Tiger Face' lends the car a futuristic appeal, further enhanced by the optional 'Digital Pattern Lighting Grille' and striking vertical headlamps. The dual-display cockpit, featuring two 12.3-inch touchscreens and an additional 5-inch segment display, offers an upgraded digital experience.

Designed for on-road performance, the dual-motor EV9 GT-Line promises a hearty 379 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. The target is 0-to-97 km/h acceleration in just five seconds. The true SUV capabilities are underlined by the available torque-vectoring dual-motor AWD, 198mm of ground clearance, up to 2,320 litres of cargo space behind the first row, and a towing capacity of up to 5,000 lbs.

Kia is not holding back on advanced technology, either. The standard 800V electrical architecture facilitates ultrafast recharging, with the ability to boost charge from 10 to 80 percent in under 25 minutes. The vehicle also boasts upgradeable system controllers and infotainment features, alongside 30 standard collision-avoidance and active assist technologies, courtesy of Kia's Advanced Driver Assistance Systems.

The first-class second row offers power-adjustable seats with leg extensions, heating, and ventilation, providing more legroom than most large luxury SUVs currently in the market. The vehicle also introduces an alternative to traditional leather trim, partially comprised of recycled materials.

Targeted to go on sale in the fourth quarter of 2023, with production set to begin in West Point, Georgia in 2024, the Kia EV9 heralds a new era in electric SUVs. Stay tuned for more updates on this game-changer in sustainable mobility.
